Banderas Bay is the 7th largest bay in the world. Majestically ringed by the Sierra Madre mountains, only the Northern side of the Bay has been developed commercially. Largely accessible only by boat, the Southern arm of the Bay remains relatively pristine with small villages, quiet beaches, and remote walking trails. Ordinarily difficult to reach except by water taxi, Beidisia’s private power boat makes these areas easy to enjoy. The Bay is home to an amazing array of marine life. In the winter months it becomes crowded with Humpback whales who return to its deep waters every year to mate and give birth to their calfs. Dolphin, turtles, and graceful giant mantas also frequent these waters. For snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, picnics, or just beach hoping the bay is an endless source of fun and adventure.

Punta Mita is ideally situated at the Northwestern tip of the Bay. The Southern side of the point faces into the Bay and towards the Mariettas Islands while the Northern side of the point looks out to the open Pacific Ocean. Punta Mita consists of the Resort with its 2 outstanding golf courses, boutiques, beach clubs and restaurants; and the small Mexican town of Punta de Mita with its own beachside restaurants and boutique shopping. Amenities within the Resort are under the control of the Punta Mita Residents Association and guests at Beidisia are welcome to use the facilities during their stay. To the North of Punta Mita, and only a short car ride away, is the slightly larger town of Sayulita. Well known as an arts community, Sayulita makes for an enjoyable morning or afternoon outing which the Beidisia team will be pleased to arrange for you in our comfortable chauffeur driven cars.

Make the Most of Your Trip

A  casual 20 minute stroll down the beach from Casa Beidisia leads you to the small fishing village of Punta de Mita.  Surf shops, water tours, restaurants, bars, boutiques and galleries crowd the water front and main street.  High end clothing stores can also be found inside the resort at the Four Seasons and St. Regis hotels.

Just 20 minutes north of the boutiques in Punta Mita lies the town of Sayulita.  Well known as an arts community its streets are lined with small shops and galleries. Paintings, sculpture, and traditional Mexican clothing, along with a full panoply of souvenirs are on offer.

For a more comprehensive shopping and sightseeing experience the old port town of Puerto Vallarta is only 45 minute by car from Bedisia. A fascinating mix of the new and old, Puerto Vallarta is an ancient city in a modern state.

While you will be hard pressed to find any better place to eat and drink than Bedisia, should you wish for a change of pace there are several excellent local restaurants and bars to choose from. Si Senor is a “toes in the sand” local eatery in Punta Mita village with terrific atmosphere, amazing margaritas, and very fresh mexican food. It is within walking distance along the beach from Beidisia.

At the other end of the spectrum Imanta is a Relais & Chateau rated boutique hotel approximately 10 minutes from the house by car. The setting is stunning and the cocktails are delicious.

If you want to feel like a local checkout Kilometre Cinco. Outstanding wood-fired pizza, great drinks, and a knock-out jazz band on Sunday nights. This is where the locals go and it is as laid-back and inviting as the warm evening breeze.  Less than 10 minutes by car from Beidisia.

Exploring the Bay

One cannot truly experience Banderas Bay without a trip on the water. Whale watching, remote and secluded beach hoping, exploring quaint Mexican villages inaccessible by car, hiking, fishing, diving or snorkeling, the key to this magical body of water is to go out and enjoy it. Beidisia guests are privileged to enjoy private access to a boat that is perfectly suited to long lazy days on the water.  Our house manager and the crew will help you plan a magnificent itinerary and our Chef will make sure you have everything aboard for a picnic, hike, or sunset cruise.

SOLVEG (a norse word meaning “the path of the sun”) has an overall length of 38’ and a 13’ beam. Powered by three Yamaha 350HP engines she is easily capable of reaching speeds over 50MPH. SOLVEG has twin air-conditioned consoles, one contains a fully enclosed head with 6.2’ of headroom. Her wide beam and design provide for a very stable and well mannered ride, but she was built for serious off-shore activities such as blue water fishing and open ocean diving. SOLVEG is equipped with the lastest navigation and safety equipment including: dual 15” Garmin chart plotters, 48” radar array, FLIR infrared night vision, and an 8KW generator. A starboard dedicated dive door at pier height makes access to and from the boat easy for passengers of any age. SOLVEG is attended by a fully certified commercial captain who was born and raised on the Bay, and who speaks excellent English. In addition to the captain, a second crew member who is a certified PADI Dive Instructor and a local area guide can also be available on request.

Beidisia guests have access to two outstanding Jack Nicklaus designed courses.  Both courses feature stunning ocean vistas including the iconic “tail of the whale” – a 175 yard drive across open water to an island green!

Banderas Bay and the waters just outside the bay provide some great dive options.  Access is easy in Beidisia’s private boat and our dive master/instructor will take you to the very best spots.  Beginners courses can also be arranged upon request.

Beidisia guests are welcome to enjoy Punta Mita’s outstanding tennis center.  A state of the art facility with 6 well maintained courts, on-site instructors, and regular clinics for people looking to improve their game.

At the Western end of Los Ranchos beach, about a 15 minute walk from Casa Beidisia, lies La Lancha – one of the premier surfing sites in Mexico. The break is long, smooth, and consistent. From beginners to local pros you will find folks enjoying La Lancha from dawn until dusk. Boards are readily available for rent and several reputable surf operations offer lessons for beginners. Pick up can be arranged for you just in front of the house.

Banderas Bay is surrounded by verdant jungle and the Sierra Madre mountain range – quite unlike the arid conditions found on the Baja Peninsula.  The hike up Monkey Mountain takes roughly 5 hours (roundtrip) and is quite strenuous, but the view at the top is stunning. Less difficult is the hike to the waterfalls above Yelapa (about 3 hours roundtrip) but the climb is quite gentle and a cool dip in the waterfalls awaits you at the turn. The Boca to Animas hike is a delight. The trip takes roughly 90 – 120 minutes one way along some ruggedly beautiful coast line on the Southern side of the Bay. Hidden beaches and stunning vistas dot the trail.

Jet skis are available for rental by the day or by the hour.  No need to travel, the skis will be brought to you.

Kayaking on the bay is a great way to enjoy the scenery and the water.  A single and a double kayak are available at the house.  Staff members will assist you in launching the boats and returning to the beach.

Stand up paddle boards are available at the house.  We have several boards on-site from large beginner boards to smaller faster boards for experienced paddlers.

Beidisia has an outstanding on-call massage team.  Enjoy a couples massage or an individual massage, inside or outside in the warm air with the sound of the ocean to further relax you.

There really is no limit to the possibilities. Here are some other activities and services available on-site or on-request: ATV rentals, Babysitters, Badminton, Boogie Boarding, Deep Sea Fishing, Island Excursions, Horseback Riding, Manicures and Pedicures, Motor Scooter Rentals, Movies (we have >200 titles available plus English language satellite access and AppleTV connections to allow you to play your own content), Ping-Pong, Snorkeling, Spear Fishing, Tequila Tasting, Whale Watching, Yoga, Zip Lining.
